As part of the core 'Curriculum team', we worked on the core experience across classrooms. No matter the learning level, the experience was built around a careful balance of complex literary texts, engaging activities, collaborative projects along with independent work.
Rethinking education
At Amplify, the goal was to engage all students deeply with challenging content while also providing teachers with powerful tools that help them understand and respond to the needs of every student.
Our research
Talking to students, teachers and school admins in some of the most challenging districts across the country gave us an in-depth look at current learning techniques in classrooms. Through our research we were focused on redesigning the experience that would benefit teachers and students alike in showing efficacy in a variety of contents.
Classroom App Experience
Designing an experience that invokes higher level thinking in any participating student was our first goal. The CKLA experience focused on closing the gap in prior knowledge and vocabulary by intertwining the teaching of foundational skills and background knowledge, building both cohesively and cumulatively.
Reading growth and engagement
The Amplify digital library offers more than 600 classic and contemporary books aimed at fostering a love of reading and learning. Our expansive collection includes fiction and nonfiction texts suited to a wide range of reading abilities and interests. The books in our library represent a diversity of voices, perspectives and subjects from throughout history, offering far-ranging opportunities to learn, explore, imagine and share.

Amplify Reading has student engagement coded into its DNA. Storytelling is at the heart of the program, whether in a magical game world or a dystopian universe. Students complain when told to stop.
conceptual understanding
Engaging interactive tools that help students understand the essential concepts for early reading as well as more advanced critical analysis at middle school.

An on-demand teacher dashboard that shows real-time class usage data for each student’s skill progress, current areas of focus, and time spent on task.
